The Attention Center

After six years of providing 360-degree care for children, families and adults affected by ADHD and autism, I recently decided it was time to retire and spend more time with family and friends, and so, with a mixture of sadness to leave my passion for client care, and excitement regarding what the future holds, I have stopped accepting new clients, and closed The Attention Center on April 14, 2017.

I have been graced with the support of an amazing team of staff and professionals who have brought on so much positive change for so many. By pursuing a science-based approach to determining an individual’s strengths and challenges, we have been able to help so many achieve more than they ever dreamed possible. I am grateful for those individuals who trusted us on their journey; individuals from my community, from around the state, and even from other countries around the world. It has been an honor. To my Board of Directors, I was humbled by your willingness to give The Attention Center your time, intellect and money to support our mission. To our many donors – thank you from the bottom of my heart. To Dr. Edward Hallowell, medical advisor to The Attention Center, thank you for sharing your wisdom with me and for your willingness to support my dream.

If you are seeking help with ADHD or autism, I leave you with some thoughts that may help you on your journey. First, find a provider who uses the QbTest, a computerized ADHD evaluation system. This test is a continuous-performance test that is FDA-cleared as a diagnostic tool for ADHD and to assess the performance of medication therapy. Next, if psychological or psycho-educational testing is necessary, this should be performed by a qualified specialist. Over the past six years Caroline Schaerfl, Ph.D., M.Ed., LSW has been the lead clinical psychologist here at The Attention Center. Dr. Schaerfl is still accepting clients. For accurate, clinical assessments for symptoms of inattention, learning issues, and autism in individuals ages 5-55, contact her at 216-554-0555.

Another of our long-time team members remains available. Saul Tucker, CPC is a Certified Professional Life Coach specializing in ADHD. Saul has many years of national and international coaching experience and is a professional member of the Cleveland Coach Federation. Saul has been teaching Life Coaching based community classes throughout the Cleveland area with topics such as “The Art of Positive Thinking”, “Stop Aging Start Evolving”, “Surviving in Academic Settings with ADHD”, to name a few. His experience working with children and adults uses a strength based approach to coaching where he works to develop effective strategies for academic, career, and social development. Coach Saul can be reached at 216-299-0260.
